- 3/4 tablespoon salt and pepper (or to taste)
- Optional toppings: Red pepper flakes, Parmesan, breadcrumbs, or crispy bacon
Instructions: How to Make Cabbage Steaks
1. Prep Your Oven and Baking Sheet
Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
2. Prepare the Cabbage
- Remove the stem from each cabbage head.
- Slice each cabbage head in half, and then slice each half into circular steaks about 1-inch thick. You should get about four steaks per cabbage.
- Tip: Keep the slices thick enough so they hold together when baked.
3. Season the Cabbage
- Lay the cabbage steaks on your prepared baking sheet, ensuring there is enough space between each slice for even cooking.
- Brush the cabbage steaks with olive oil on one side and season with salt and pepper.
- Flip the steaks over and repeat the oiling and seasoning on the other side.
4. Bake the Cabbage Steaks
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 15-20 minutes. The cabbage is done when the edges are browned and crispy, and the center is fork-tender.
5. Add Some Extra Flavor
